Of Painful Jaws and Angry Birds

30 Jan

My jaw hurts. 😦  I don’t know much about medical terms but you know that joint connecting skull and jaw? The left side of mine hurts when I open my mouth.  Well it’s really not a sharp pain, more of a dull ache.  But I am having a hard time taking bites or opening my mouth to eat.  I can still talk non stop though – and the husbo is laughing at me.  He said he loves it when I talk – puts him to sleep daw. Toink! hahaha! All the while I thought he loves hearing my golden voice. Oh well, as per the husbo’s cousin (who is a registered nurse), there may be swelling on the joints so he advised me to take mefenamic acid and if the pain persists, to go see a doctor. Yikes! Oh well, no fear, my great Healer is with me. 😉

The husbo and I are still taking advantage of the cool weather so aside from going to Sunday service, we stayed at home.  We watched minimal TV today because our attention was diverted by this:

Yes, angry birds for PC is here! The husbo and I took turns shooting those poor birds up in the air to hit the green pigs.  The birds may be angry, but we’re definitely not!  We had stomach aches from laughing at this game.  We couldn’t leave level 1-12 though so we decided to call it a night and get some rest.

Thank you Father God for another day of bonding and quality time with my husbo! Thank you also that we didn’t have to spend money to have fun! 😉  You are amazing Father!

Run United 2011 – The First Leg

29 Jan

The husbo and I are excited! We just found out that details of the first leg of Run United 2011 has been released!  One of my running goals is to finish a 5k run and this is my chance!  The husbo being the sweet person he is, told me he would run 5k in this even as well to keep pace with me.  Awww.  Anyway, here are the details:

Different

28 Jan

Different. Photo by Nyree Belen. Please credit back to this site if borrowing the photo. Thanks!

I took this photo today.  I was  thinking of a myriad of things and this called to me so I took out the camera, dusted it off, and took a shot.

This is actually a gift from my sister.  It’s purpose was to be a stirrer for my cup of coffee but I never got to use it. hehe.

Anyway, this photo reminded me of the word: Different.  Sometimes I wish I have the guts to be different, you know?  I have always been comfortable  blending in and being in the background, but what does it take to be different – to stand apart from the crowd?  I guess I need to step out of my comfort zone and dare to stand out and be different in a good way.

Downtime.

27 Jan

I am at home, on the bed with no internet connection (my laptop’s wifi card can’t seem to get signal inside our room).  I am unable to stand because of these monthly cramps but I am still thankful that I can type on a word document.  I need to do this to take my mind off the pain.

The husbo was nice enough to fetch me some warm compress so the pain was subdued for a bit.  I need to get some sleep though.  I find that rest helps because I just sleep through the pain hehe!

So I have to go now, the husband beckons we watch his favorite TV series.  If I get bored with it, I’ll continue reading that John Grisham novel I bought.

The Waiting.

26 Jan

My travel time going to work is about an hour and a half.  This involves riding a bus for a 30 minute travel and walking for about 1km (each way or to and from work) because there are no public utility vehicles passing by our office area.  I do this 5 days a week, to and from work.

I used to complain a lot about my travel time.  I complain about the undisciplined bus drivers who wait for traffic lights to turn red so they can have more passengers.  I rant about the horrendous traffic on EDSA. And I abhorred the long walks. And then I realized I was impatient because while traveling, I’ve got nothing better to do.

Have you been in this situation?  I think most of us have been in a similar spot.  We have, in our day to day journey, experienced waiting and getting impatient. Long lines in ATMs or banks.  Horrible traffic.  Waiting for someone or a package to arrive.  We get impatient.  And why is that?  Why do we feel frustrated? Continue reading

Peek-a-boo!

Hello all! I am peeking in to say “Hi!:  I  couldn’t get a chance to go online the past few days because of something important.  I have all my blog posts on a word document and I will post them as soon as I get the chance to go online again.

I pray for blessings of a thousandfold to you and your family! 🙂
