19 Jan

Each one of us has gone through (or are going through) a season of sadness where our hearts are broken and we feel like happiness can never be ours again.

There are many types and I couldn’t really dish out some advice on how to get over it.  Each situation is different.  Each pain unique.  But I’d like to share about a heartbreak I recently went through.  I pray that you be blessed as you read this. Continue reading

Upcoming Activities

18 Jan

There are several activities in our church that I am so excited to join.  Maybe you’d be interested to join them too. Here are two of them:

Keeping Up in High Heels - Jan 22, 2011, Saturday - 8:00 PM.

1. Are you a career woman who has to juggle her time between family, career and relationships? Then maybe this is for you, Keeping Up in High Heels! Featuring Rachel Ong, a management consultant for the past 15 years and television host Donita Rose.

This will be on January 22, 2011, 8:00 PM at the Assembly Hall of the Every Nation Building, Fort Bonifacio.  Tickets are sold at Php 200.00.  For inquiries, you may call Ria at (02) 817.12.12. I already bought my ticket after the 3pm service last Sunday and I am excited!

Marriage Booster 2011: "I Love You More" featuring Drs. Les and Leslie Parrot.

It’s too bad though that the husbo’s schedule could not accommodate the Marriage Booster this year: “I love you more” featuring Drs. Les and Leslie Parrot and will talk about how everyday problems can strengthen your marriage.  I really want to attend this! I mean I could attend alone but wouldn’t it be great if both the husbo and I are there?

This will run for four weeks – Jan 21, Jan 28, Feb 4 and Feb 11.  Each session will be for 3 hours – 6:00PM – 9:00PM at the Every Nation Building, Fort Bonifacio.  Registration fee is Php 250/person.  For more inquiries you may call Phoebe at (632) 817.12.12 extension 508.

I love how our church offers seminars like these! Hope to see you there! Wave hello if you see me ok? I’d love to meet you guys.  🙂

True Friends Stick by You Like Family

15 Jan

I am writing this down on a piece of paper while the husbo is sleeping.  I am trying to lessen my online time during weekends so I can spend some quality time with the husbo.  I may probably post this on my blog at a later time.

Friends come and friends go, but a true friend sticks by you like family. – Proverbs 18:24 (The Message) Continue reading

Priceless Minutes

13 Jan

“This is my beloved and this is my friend.” – Song of Solomon 5:16 (NIV)

One of the things I promised myself this 2011 was that I will consciously make more time with the husband. It’s not easy considering our out of whack work schedules but it can be done.

This week has been good so far. I made it a point to wait for his arrival before I leave for work so we can have dinner together and talk about our day. Of course when the husbo reads this, he would argue that I do all the talking. 😛

That time is non negotiable now. No amount of urgent work related matter can make me sacrifice these few minutes. Continue reading

The Simple Things Just Are – A Celebration of Our 6th

27 Dec

“The simplest things are often the truest.” – Richard Bach

If you ask about our relationship, our marriage and ourselves as a whole, I would probably describe them in one word: “simple.”  The husbo and I, we are not comfortable with all the grandeur, the excess and the complicated things in life.  We have always been happy with what’s simple.  Thus it’s no surprise that we celebrated our 6th with a simple date. Today We Turn 6.

18 Dec

The husbo and I have been married for 6 years, been together for 13 years.  It has been a wonderful journey and we look forward to more.

The husbo is out in the kitchen, cooking me breakfast (isn’t he the sweetest?) Let me leave you with this note I wrote in Facebook, a few days shy of our 13th year.

I’m here in our room, silenced by the thought of how time can pass by so quickly and yet feel like it was just yesterday.  I woke up early today but I really don’t mind because I woke up to your call telling me you miss me.  Those 3 words, that simple gesture made my day so bright, my face hurts from smiling. It’s funny in a way because just before I went to sleep, my thoughts were about how, in less than a month’s time, we will be together for 13 years now.

13 years.  Wow.  How did time pass so quickly?  I looked back on all those years and my mind and heart were filled with fond memories.  I remember the night you sang to me and told me you loved me.  The times we spent just sleeping on your couch, enveloped in each other’s arms.  Even then, we were such homebodies we never really cared about going out, as long as we were together, we were okay. (or were we that poor we couldn’t afford it? hahaha!).   The times we cried together over our arguments.   So many memories, not all happy ones, but they made us strong.

We’re not perfect but we complement each other.  We don’t see eye to eye often but we compromise.  We sometimes get lost in the hussle and bussle of life but we always find ourselves looking in each other’s eyes at the end of the day.  There are days when we are silent, no words are said, but our hearts do the talking.  We’re not perfect people, but we are perfect for each other.

You are my best friend.  The one I go to when I feel lost and down.  Whenever you see me crying, you can always stop my tears by your embrace and the words: “wag ka na umiyak, nadudurog puso ko pag nakikita kitang umiiyak.”  When something great happens in my life, you are the first person I think of telling.  You laugh with me and get excited for me.  I may get lost and wander around from time to time, but you will always be the one I come home to – always welcoming me with open arms.

I could write so much more but it would take a lot of space here.  You already know how much you mean to me, how much I love you.  I just wanted to shout it to the world! 🙂

I can never imagine spending my life with anyone else but you.  Here’s to more years of love! I love you!

Joyeux anniversaire Husbo! Je t’aime!
