This is the reason for my absence.  I gave in and bought the trilogy because I thought, if my friend was right about how good it is, then I better have all three books on hand.  She said she was dying of anticipation before the third book came out.

The story is set in the future and starts in one of the poor Districts of the post-apocalyptic world of Panem, where a powerful government called Capitol holds power.   Panem rose out of the ashes of what was once known as North America.
